JC had an idea to paint one of his favourite subjects - the Mona Lisa - but with a playful twist. He imagined her wearing one of the most iconic Liverpool Football Club shirts of all time: the 1989/90 Candy kit - the season Liverpool reclaimed the league title. It was also the year John Barnes lit up the pitch, scoring 28 brilliant goals and cementing his place in football history.
This piece celebrates the meeting of art, football, and culture - a nod to an era that lives forever in the hearts of Liverpool fans.
Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
To make this release even more meaningful, £25 from every print sold will be donated to the Owen McVeigh Foundation, a cause close to JC’s heart. As a proud ambassador, JC supports the foundation’s mission to help children and families across the North West who are facing cancer, creating magical memories during incredibly difficult times.
